Goodreads Synopsis for Paper Princess: From strip clubs and truck stops to southern coast mansions and prep schools, one girl tries to stay true to herself.

These Royals will ruin you…

Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.

Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.

Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.

He might be right.

Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

This review will have spoilers! I don’t usually do spoilers but I cant help it this time !!

This series was recommended to me by one of my blog followers, they didn’t tell me what they thought about the series just that they wanted to know my true feelings about it. Well I’ll be brutally honest and just say I’m not a fan of this series, but to be fair it could be because I’m a 34 year old woman with a low bs tolerance. Its causing me anxiety just trying to rehash what I read but only because this series is angst after angst after angst, you get my drift…. Before I come off as a total ass I’ll say that the author Erin Watt did an amazing job keeping me caught in her series, because despite me not liking the actual content I wasn’t able to put the book down, I call that great writing.

Elle Harper starts off in book one as a very strong character who is stripping for a living….. Yep you heard me, she’s 17 years old and been on the pole since she was 15 to help pay for her mothers medical bills. I mean, I suppose its admirable what she did for the love of her mother but we’re lead to believe her mothers stolen ID card that says she’s 34 is believable when you’re 15 years old and stripping for a living. NO. Whatever, so as the story progresses Elle is saved by a guardian that she didn’t know existed and is brought into a world where money rules the world. In comes the Royal family…. Throughout the series Elle goes from strong, to antagonistic, to drama queen, to in love and calculating and later turns out to be normal..ish.  The one great quality about Elle is her loyalty to the ones she loves.

The Royal Family : Callum Royal- Dad/Guardian is very uninvolved in his family although he puts in minimal effort and seems to love all his children very much, he’s just very much lost in grief it seems. I can’t quite get a good read on him, he’s willing to buy his children out of trouble but not really willing to make them straighten up. He’s got likeable qualities.  Reed Royal- Reed is the leader of the Royal boys although he’s the second born. He’s an awful human being to Elle in the beginning since hes convinced she’s sleeping with his dad. Point blank and crudely put Reed is a dick of the worst kind. At one point Elle is secretly  shot up with a dose of Molly/Ecstasy and has sexual needs that wont go away, so Reed volunteers to take care of her since she is experiencing excruciating sexual pain from her unwanted dose of drugs. So he takes care of her without full intercourse and yet she is totally ok with this because the drugs went straight to her vag and she somehow has total control of her brain and wants this from Reed….

11ridoueykz116I just cant… Am I the only one left face palming ??? Anyways Reed also rules the prep school they attend and he makes sure to ruin her reputation at school as well. Eventually Reed falls in love with Elle and wants to become a new man. There is a Broadway production full of drama in between falling in love and Elle and Reed becoming a couple but I refuse to rehash the cluster that is their story. There are 4 other Royal brothers Gideon Royal, Easton Royal and twins Sawyer and Sebastian Royal. These 4 are all one big ball of wtf on their own so when I say this series isn’t short on drama just trust me.

I’m not big on sex scenes with teens, especially under a certain age but I’m a grown woman and am indeed currently wearing my big girl panties so obviously I know it happens but to read it made me feel dirty. So if you’re interested in that aspect then yes it has sexual moments in it over and over and over….. If you like rags to riches, bullies, drugs, fighting, teens having sex with adults, runaways, attempted murder, sexual assault, murder and lets not forget love then this is the series for you.

I gave the series 3.5 stars because the author did keep me reading even though I wanted to throw my kindle out the window while driving 70 mph down the highway, sorry its true. She has a way of weaving the story around you where you feel you’re caught in a web and cant get out of it because you need to know how it all ends. All I can say is if you decide to read this story be ready to not be able to put it down because you’ve never read a series quite like this…..

|Release Blitz & Review|THREE AND OUT by: Laura Chapman

New from Laura Chapman, the third installment of her fantasy football romantic comedy Queen of the League series . . .

Amazon | Coming Soon: Barnes & Noble | Kobo | Coming Soon: iBooks | Goodreads

After rushing to the altar and moving across the country, Harper Duquaine (or is it MacLaughlin, now?) is in uncharted territory. What once seemed like a promising opportunity to advance her husband’s career while giving her some much needed independence and adventure has proven to be a bust. By the time fall rolls around again, she’s back in a boring job by day and overstocking her inventory of crocheted scarves by night. Not even the prospect of a new football season holds much excitement.

At least that’s what she thought. Harper suddenly finds herself the manager of not one but two fantasy football teams—each with its own set of drama. Between the added pressure of her new marriage, an unexpected career prospect, and the hiccups created by people from her past and present worlds, Harper quickly finds herself going from bored to overwhelmed.

Can she hold up under the pressure, or will Harper learn the hard way that the turf isn’t always greener on the other field?

Review:  I loved this book! I loved the series! To be honest I think I have a girl crush on the author! Well maybe not a crush but I definitely love her style. Author Laura Chapman never disappoints with her witty and charming style of writing that leaves you turning the pages with a smile on your face wondering what the Queen of the League will get into next. THREE & OUT turns out to be my favorite in the series with its funny yet emotional feel.

Harper and Brook find themselves newly married, newly relocated to Seattle and in the beginning of a new fantasy football season. How will Harper cope with another season? Who will she pick? What will her strategies be ? Yes! Strategies! Harper finds herself immersed in 2 leagues this season and there is never a lack of hilarity or drama when football and Harper are involved. Harper and Brook find themselves back in a familiar position with her becoming a widow to football season, so in true Harper fashion she turns to knitting and her fantasy league. Harper shows a deeper level of maturity and understanding in this book although her sass isn’t ever far off. Brook continues to have hope and faith but you get a deeper feeling that even though hes an amazing coach on the field and off, he actually doesn’t go unaffected by life’s curveballs making him seem more human. Although lets face it, we would all benefit with a Brook in our life.

THREE & OUT is so much more than fantasy football this go around. It touts love, friendship, sensitive social issues, growth and laughter. With every door that closes one opens up and at the end of the day what happens, happens and how you handle it is what separates you from the crowd, that’s the lesson I learned from this amazingly awesome book.

Note: This book wasn’t written as a stand alone and I highly recommend you read FIRST & GOAL and GOING FOR TWO first. They are just as amazing as the 3rd installment !!!

Goodreads Synopsis: A PROPHECY TO FULFILL

Two hundred years ago, our world changed forever. Two realms combined in an explosion of magic. One morning everything was normal and the next? Every human body was host to another magical creature who had thoughts and a mind of its own. However, with power comes darkness. Someone wants to wipe this earth clean and will stop at nothing to consume it.

SHE IS NOT A HERO

Or so she thought. Wren had grown up with another voice in her head but had never considered herself magical. She doesn’t have the talents other people have. She certainly doesn’t have the abilities anyone else has. But she is charming and manages her business quite well. She deals in emotions and makes people happy. It’s a simple life, but it’s hers.

HE THINKS SHE COULD BE

Burke was a bodyguard first and always. He had been sent to collect her and deliver her in person to the most powerful creatures in their world. But the moment he steps through the broken door of her shop, his world changes forever. She’s strange. She’s uncomfortable. And she’s so damned beautiful. He is convinced she is part of a prophecy that can save their world.

But how to convince her?

Have you ever read a book that left you with questions? You knew you had to re-read it because its depth left you wanting/needing more answers and perhaps the same book could answer those lingering questions? Well I did and I loved it.  The writing in this book is so in-depth and descriptive that it left me in awe of the sheer imagination the author Emma Hamm possesses. I’m admittedly not an avid Fantasy reader but that didn’t stop me from flying through this book and loving every minute of it.

I’ve written and deleted my character descriptions about 5 times now, feeling that what I was writing wouldn’t and couldn’t grasp the full extent of the characters. So just know that no matter what I write, it will never do justice to the bright characters of this book.  gylc9e3htyfww

Wren is an anomaly in every single sense of the word. There are times I think I have Wren and her creature figured out but then I had to go and turn the page and learn I really didn’t have them figured out at all. The best way to describe Wren is that she is a present that you start to unwrap only to find another wrapped package underneath that never seems to end. She is such an independent and strong character that you can’t help but love and admire her strength, that being said the same independence and strength will drive you crazy because at times her life would be so much easier if she wasn’t so stubborn. Wren has a creature who has been with her since the beginning named E and I would love to give a character description of E but its hard to tell where E leaves off and Wren picks up. What I can tell you about E is that it is extremely protective of Wren and I’m not sure there isn’t anything it wouldn’t do for her. Wren is so in touch with who she is and what she’s all about that she thinks the theory of her fulfilling the prophesy is shenanigans and really wants no part in it, anything that could disrupt her life isn’t welcome. Does she really know who she is ? Or is there a possibility there is more to her and her creature than she’s ever known?

Burke has been sent to find the answer to the prophesy and to deliver her to some pretty powerful beings. Though when he finally finds Wren he doesn’t really want to share her with anyone, but for Burke duty comes first. Burke is confused by the enigma that is Wren and the more he hangs around her juice bar the more he starts to figure her out, leaving him enamored with the girl with crazy colored hair. Burke has worked for some pretty powerful people in his life and this time  he feels like he’s helping save the world but he doesn’t want to do it at the cost of losing Wren. Burke’s character is extremely protective, observant, patient and a tad possessive. He really is a highly developed character as well, his instinct is what pops out to me and makes him a perfect male lead.

Silver Blood offers up a unique and memorable plot taking you to a world where humans protect the lives of their magical creatures. It boasts highly developed characters that leave you full of laughter, adventure and wanting more. I highly recommend you give Silver Blood a read…. or two!

Piper Skye is rock ‘n’ roll. She’s party all night, sleep all day. She’s get wild and be free.

Or she would be if she had the time.

And the energy.

And not being so awkward would probably help, too.

As the owner of a thriving dessert business, Piper spends her days at school and her nights elbow deep in batter and frosting. She’s confident her hard work and sacrifice will pay off as long as she stays focused and sticks to the plan.

Jake Hyde is a workaholic with a jaded outlook on life. Surrounding himself with employees he considers his brothers, he long ago made the decision that his custom garage would be his focus.

Fate, as it often does, has other ideas. Plus, a killer sense of humor.

Thrown together by coincidence, the gruff mechanic and the sweet as sin baker have instant sparks. Suddenly, all of their carefully made plans have taken a giant freakin’ left turn.

And they do it on the back of a Harley.

*Warning: This book is intended for adults. It contains frequent adult language and situations.

Don’t try this at home.

At least not without stretching first.

Maybe keep the sneakers on for traction, too.

Oooohhhh my living lanta y’all I loved the heck outta this book. This book falls into the rockabilly style that I personally love so much. The style of writing in this book came with its quirks but nothing that turned me off from obsessively reading it. From page one I was locked in for the long haul with only a 4 hour break to sleep, which I blame on the developed characters who were able infiltrate my brain giving me tunnel vision for nothing but this book. I’d never heard of Author Layla Frost until Goodreads got all up in my business and suggested I read Hyde & Seek and man am I glad I took that bit of advice. Layla has an interesting and like I mentioned before quirky way of writing and for me it really works. She was able to take me on a journey of bad assery proportions and all I can do is suggest you take the same journey through her unique writing style.

Piper Skye is bogged down with school and her growing cake business, with barely time to breathe meeting a guy isn’t on her radar but when you meet Jacoby ( Jake) Hyde maybe its time to throw caution to the wind. Piper is an amazing chick with her rocker style and owning who she is. She is confident, loyal, passionate  and all around sweetheart of a character. She has so much faith in who she is, its hard for her to accept that people might not trust her or her motives. All she can do is continue to do her and people will eventually see her for who she is and not who they think she is. Did I mention that Piper has style, this girl knows how to dress, if she actually existed she would be on my speed dial to help a girl out, No wonder Jake has the absolute hots for her.

There is nothing I love more than a tattooed, confident and gruff man. Seriously it gives me all the feels and more. I always get questions about my favorite male character and I’m here to say that Jake Hyde is up there with some of my favorites. First lets just address that hes obviously sexy as hell, but man oh man y’all he’s got green eyes which is almost like guy kryptonite for me. Beyond looks what won me over with Jake was his ability to grow throughout the story, even though he was true to himself he was able to give himself over to change. He was an alpha male absolutely and at times came off as an ass but lucky for Jake he’s got Piper who doesn’t have a problem with putting this alpha male in check.  Another thing Jake and Piper bring to the table is passion and sex so hot it would give hell a run for its money.

“You show up in my shop lookin’ good and wholesome in an outfit that should’ve turned me off but made my dick hard, thinkin’ of ways I wanted to corrupt you. Now I know under all that prim and proper was rock ‘n’ roll.”

These characters were just everything.. Not just our main characters ,but all of the characters  brought something more to this plot. They were there thru the whole story, which I really loved, it made it feel more believable to see how the ones we love and care about are there through the good and bad and how they help us along the way, even for the small moments.

“Sometimes the road to happily ever after isn’t smooth and easy. You have to fight through trials and obstacles to get there. There are dragons and big, bad wolves disguise to defeat. Riding in a carriage with a prince wouldn’t get you over those bumps and twists. Sometimes the road to your happily ever after is on the back of a bike with a badass knight that would kick the prince’s ass if he came near you.”

I don’t know what else I can say about a book that brings you friendship, good music, hot men, baked goodies and even some mystery, other than read it. I promise you’ll thank me later.

Goodreads Synopsis: As an archivist in a small museum, the biggest thing Helen Jurist has to deal with each year is the Annual Donor Gala. When her museum becomes a flurry of activity, due to the nearby discovery of a large Viking hoard, Helen finds the additional responsibility more of a pain than an honor. She doesn’t know anything about Vikings, or what makes the hoard so unusual. She just wants to get through the gala without her boss catching the drapes on fire.

Nobody from the public is supposed to have access to the find, but try telling that to Rune Helsen. A handsome Dane with wolfish desires, he walks around like he owns the place. He’s Helen’s worst nightmare—if only her traitorous body wasn’t so attracted to him.

But Rune has a secret, one that brought him to see the artifacts for more than just scholarly interest. Unknown to Helen, there’s so much more at stake than just pulling off a successful evening. A whole world she never knew existed, a world of vampires and shifters, stands on the precipice—and there’s something in the Cutler Hoard that could burn it all down.

This was a fun little addicting book. It being a novella it was undoubtedly short but it left me wanting more. Paranormal romance isn’t usually one of my first choices but I was pleasantly surprised by Ms. Hardgrave’s plot and writing style, leaving me wanting more of the story.

Helen Jurist is a museum archivist. She is shoved into a situation with Rune Helsen and is initially inconvenienced but that irritation soon turns to curiosity. Helen is a strong, smart and intuitive character and perfect for this plot. She’s quick to accept things at face value which goes against some of her character qualities but all the same it’s endearing. I’m excited to see how Helen’s character evolves in the series. Rune Helsen came out strong, confident and sexy as hell. He’s got an air of mystery which is to be expected, what wasn’t expected was the lack of alpha male attitude. Now don’t get me wrong, Rune is no pansy but he’s not one of the typical do as I say, I am God kind of man. I personally love that character trait in this instance.

This book has Vikings, vampires, werewolves and chemistry that will make your toes curl. I highly recommend you purchasing this book and starting this series that will leave you wanting more.

Goodreads Synopsis: Elementary school teacher Liliana Serrano has never been one to let others determine her future. Whether it’s her pack of three overly protective brothers or her Puerto-Rican, American heritage, she stands on her own. Which is exactly how she entered her arrangement with Adam Aquilani. The hot formula one driver is aloof, detached and not interested in relationship. After a cheating fiancé, no strings attached sex was just what she needed.

Except one year later, they’re still hooking up and things aren’t so clear cut anymore. Especially when a surprise pregnancy enters the picture.

Adam is determined to marry Lily and raise their child as a family. But Lily refuses to settle for anything less than love.

As the two go on a journey of discovering, secrets are revealed, testing the strength of their connection. Can they learn not to give the past the power to define their future.

Plain and simple Author Mika Jolie knows how to write, she has an uncanny way of gripping your heart and pulling you into the pages of her books. It’s easy to get lost for hours upon the beautiful scenery, people and food that is so fantastically written that you never want for more detail.

13w4oqrsnpjl9c

Need You Now is a “molto appassionato” story featuring sassy and sexy teacher  Liliana Serrano and formidable  Formula One driver Adam Aquilani. Liliana aka Lily has had her heartbroken in the past, so for the last year she has buried herself between the sheets with passionate and gorgeous Adam. Lily’s character is a perfect mix of confident and vulnerable and at times these emotions mix but it’s so believable, I just wish I had a tenth of her sexual confidence.  I would so conquer the world, well not really but im sure I would feel like I could. Once Lily finds out she’s carrying Adam’s baby it changes everything and suddenly a bedroom relationship isn’t enough.

Adam is where I feel thrown, I’ve personally never found the “pretty boy” type to be appealing but ill be damned if Mrs. Jolie didn’t write the sexiest pretty boy I’ve had the pleasure of reading. Adam is stylish and obviously beautiful but he’s the epitome of manly and there is no lack of testosterone when it comes to his character. Adam has been with Liliana for over a year and has had no desire to entertain any other female, but what does Adam really know about Liliana? He’s about to have a baby with a woman he barely knows and dating isn’t something that Adam does but he recognizes that Lily deserves a chance.  Once he gets to know her will he really like what he’s found out and can he trust her with his past and who he really is? Adam is a very solid personality, a smidgen broody but mainly he’s very protective of his past which presents itself as stand offish but he more than makes up for it with his prowess in the bedroom.

The story primarily takes place in Martha’s Vineyard and includes a full cast of friends and family who only add to the experience of Liliana and Adam’s story of friendship, lust and maybe even love.

On a side note, at the end of each book there is usually a recipe for a yummy drink that is mentioned in the book. I mean, who doesn’t love a delicious drink, it’s just one more reason to love Mrs. Jolie and her attention to detail.
